Sich Family Post-Secondary Scholarship
Application Window: May 15–June 19, 2026
2026 graduates and anyone planning to register for post-secondary courses this fall—your opportunity is here. The Spina Bifida Coalition is honored to offer the 2026 Sich Post-Secondary Scholarship, an endowed fund made possible through the generosity of George and Roberta Sich, in loving memory of their daughter, Stephanie. This scholarship provides up to $2,000 (lifetime maximum) to support tuition, textbooks, housing, and other post-secondary expenses, helping you take the next step toward your educational and career goals.
The application window is open from May 15 through June 19, 2026. You do not need to be a new graduate to apply—this scholarship is available to anyone pursuing college or other post-secondary education in 2026.
To complete your application, you will need to submit:
- A essay, no more than two pages (written by the applicant) that includes):
- your personal story
- your chosen program and why it interests you
- why you selected your school/university/college
- your career goals
- how you plan to use the scholarship
- A copy of your acceptance letter
- A copy of your tuition bill or statement from the school listed in your application
Please email your essay, acceptance letter, and tuition bill/statement with your name and “Post-Secondary Education Scholarship” in the subject line, NO LATER THAN 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19th to: rhonda.horick@sb-coalition.org
Applications will be reviewed by the SBC Board of Directors on June 25, 2026, and awardees will be notified by July 13, 2026.
Through the Sich Family endowed fund, this scholarship continues Stephanie’s legacy by opening doors to education, independence, and opportunity for individuals living with spina bifida.
